This juicy and sweet coffee with notes of fuji apple, caramelized grapefruit, and tangerine is brought to us through the initiative of Moses Venapo. Moses is an entrepreneurial producer in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea who wants to offer local smallholders better access to higher market prices. This is a new, small project with a lot of promise that we are proud to support through the purchase of this tasty microlot.

Moses' cherry-buying facility and backyard wet mill allow more control over purchasing and processing for farmers. The coffee cherries are purchased at a significant premium to the general market, sorted carefully, and feedback is provided to farmers about best practices in picking. Most coffee in Kabiufa is delivered in parchment in small quantities to roadside delivery points. Moses' facility allows around 50 local smallholders within Moses' village and the neighboring area to sell their cherries at one location for better prices and higher-traceablity.
