Chilled. Raw. Delicious.

Cold Brew is the Wild West of the coffee industry. To be honest, it's such a new brewing method that everyone hasn't agreed upon a universal method. After much research and testing we have come up with a 1lb of coffee : 1.5 gal of water brewing ratio that produces a clean and satisfying Cold Brew.

What You'll Need:

For a 1 gallon Batch (1:1.5)

  • A clean 2 gallon bowl, pitcher, or bucket with a wide mouth.
  • Toddy Mesh filter
  • Toddy Paper filter
  • 1lb of freshly roasted Coffee of your choice
  •  A Burr Grinder
  • 1/2 gal of Hot Water
  • 1 gal of Cold Water

For 3 gallon Batch (3:4.5)

  • A clean 5 gallon bucket or container of your choice.
  • Toddy Mesh filter
  • Toddy Paper filter
  • 3lb of freshly roaster Coffee of your choice
  • Burr Grinder
  • 1/2 gal of Hot Water
  • 4 gal of Cold Water

Brewing Directions:

  1. Place Mesh filter in the device of your choice, and then place the paper filter inside the mesh filter.
  2. Pour freshly ground coffee into the filters.
  3. Take the Hot Water and wet all the grounds forcing the coffee to bloom. The bloom is when the coffee releases all of the gases and oils. If your coffee is fresh, the bloom will be very large and bubbly. After hitting the coffee with the water, let the bloom sit for about 30-45 seconds.
  4. Add cold water to the bloomed coffee.
  5. After brewing the coffee take a rubber band or string and tie off the paper filter. Then place your device full of the brewed coffee into a refrigerator and let it sit for 12-18 hours.
  6. After 12-18 hours strain and remove the filters. Then you are ready to serve!
